What We Believe
We believe every person, at every age, deserves to flourish.
That means:
EVERY CHILD
should learn through curiosity and discovery—charting their own path, building what matters to them, and developing their unique strengths at their own pace.
EVERY ELDER
deserves to remain connected to purpose and community—contributing their wisdom and experience, not isolated from the world around them.
EVERY PERSON
should have access to what they need—while nothing of value goes to waste.
This belief drives everything we do. It's why Atelius Learning exists. And it's why we're drawn to questions about intergenerational connection and resource distribution.
But we're not trying to solve everything at once. We're starting with what we can do well, right now: transforming education through Atelius.
Our First Program: Atelius Learning
Atelius: Where Learners Become Mapmakers
Atelius Learning is our first program—transforming education through curiosity-driven, personalized learning where children discover their strengths and chart their own paths.
Originated by our son, Atharva Abhyankar, after his transformative experience with learning-by-doing, Atelius reimagines education around real-world projects, expert mentorship, and purpose-driven learning.
About Abhyankar Foundation
The Abhyankar Foundation is a public charity founded by Uma and Rajesh Abhyankar, built around a simple conviction: every person, at every age, deserves to flourish through meaningful learning, contribution, and connection.
The Origin Story:
The Abhyankar Foundation has been Uma and Rajesh's vision for over a decade—a conviction that every person, at every age, deserves to flourish. That vision is now becoming reality.
Our first program, Atelius Learning, was originated and designed by our son, Atharva Abhyankar, after his transformative experience with learning-by-doing during his high school years. His journey through hands-on engineering courses, industrial design, and a two-year research project sparked a question: If learning-by-doing works so powerfully for engineering, why not for everything?
Atharva researched Project-Based Learning and innovative education models worldwide, creating the vision for Atelius. We're starting a movement—building Atelius as our first initiative, with aspirations to address other patterns that prevent human flourishing as we grow.
Our Approach:
We don't chase quick fixes. We study root causes, develop sustainable solutions, and build programs that create lasting change. Each initiative we undertake shares common DNA:
- Honoring individual pace and potential
- Building connection over isolation
- Cultivating contribution over passivity
- Creating environments where purpose and meaning flourish naturally
The Founders:
Rajesh Abhyankar Rajesh is a thought leader and entrepreneur with three decades of technology leadership. He served as CEO and co-founder of MediaAgility, a Google premier partner acquired by Persistent Systems in 2022, where he built people-first cultures and challenged status-quo approaches to organizational growth. Now, as founder of Suzega—a born-AI innovation studio—he continues exploring how technology can amplify human capability rather than replace it. Whether building AI-powered enterprises or reimagining education through Atelius, Rajesh's north star remains constant: technology should serve human flourishing. A lifelong learner with deep expertise in AI since the 1990s, he's convinced that in a world where machines can reproduce answers, the future belongs to those who can ask better questions—and education must evolve accordingly.
Uma Abhyankar Uma holds an undergraduate degree in Microbiology and a bachelor's degree in Education. For over two decades, she has been deeply engaged in her three children's learning journey from preschool through high school—serving as their teacher, guide, and mentor to spark curiosity, sustain a love of learning, and nurture cultural values. Beyond education, Uma publishes authentic Indian recipes on her website and YouTube channel, where she encourages children to learn their mother tongue, understanding that through food and language we open doors to poetry, literature, arts, and cultural roots. She writes poetry in three languages, embodying the interdisciplinary, culturally-grounded approach that Atelius champions.
Together Uma and Rajesh founded the Abhyankar Foundation after witnessing their son Atharva's transformative learning experience through hands-on, project-based education. United by their conviction that human potential is being wasted by systems that isolate rather than connect, diminish rather than cultivate, they believe every person, at every age, deserves to flourish through meaningful learning, contribution, and connection. Together, they bring complementary strengths: Rajesh's technology leadership and organizational innovation, Uma's deep educational practice and cultural grounding.
Atharva Abhyankar originated Atelius and continues to shape its vision as we build.
